Tell Your Story

My awesome marketing folks at HoM Consulting constantly encourage me to tell stories about myself, about which I feel somewhat awkward most of the time.  I like to tell stories (most of which are true…hey, my motto is to never let the truth stand in the way of a good story) and most of the time, the stories aren’t about me.  I really don’t enjoy talking about myself that much.  So, here’s a rare exception to the general rule, because it’s National Tell Your Story Day.

Often people ask me how I got started working with Chiropractors.  Here’s how.  Years ago, when I lived in Colorado and had just started my coaching practice, I received a message from a terrific husband and wife chiropractic practice in Boulder.  We chatted and agreed to do an 8-week program with them and their team.  When we started, they were selling high-priced packages and their conversion ratio was 32%.  Now that’s not horrible when compared with the 10% rate that is the national average.

Two months later when I walked into their office, everyone was grinning from ear to ear.

I said, “Well, y’all look happy today!  What’s going on?”

Dr. Richelle said, “Well, I just checked our numbers for the past month, and our conversion ratio was 83%!

One of the assistants said, “Yeah, and we did so well that Dr. Danny is taking us on a cruise!”

I said, “Dr. Danny, how would you like to take your sales coach on the cruise?”

He replied, “Uh, NO!”

So, I didn’t go on the cruise.  And I’ve been coaching Danny and Richelle’s teams ever since.

Danny and Richelle Knowles are the founders of the Mile High Chiropractic Weekend and Lifetime Wellness Practice, and they are tremendously active in teaching other chiropractors to build large, successful practices.  Over the past 11 years, they’ve generously offered me the opportunity to teach sales to their students, which has led to many chiropractors working with me as well.  In fact, I’ll be teaching at the LWP Training in Atlanta, April 16th & 17th,  2021.

So, that’s how it all started, and working with Chiropractors has been one of the great joys of my life!  They are marvelous people who are giving priceless gifts of health and wellness to their practice members, their communities and the world!
