Self-Check Your Attitude

It’s National Positive Attitude Month!  Wow, that’s pretty awesome because a positive attitude and mindset is absolutely vital when it comes to sales and business growth.  Here are some questions you can ask yourself to do a little self-check on your attitude:

  • How do you feel about your profession and its related products and services? Why would people want chiropractic care or a new Chrysler, or sales and marketing help? You need to be proud of your profession and the standards with which it’s practiced. If you don’t believe it’s valuable and effective and needed, your prospects won’t believe it either.

  • How do you feel about your company? Why would someone want to do business with your company or the company with which you work? How honestly, ethically, and morally is your company run? What kind of customer service is provided? How do the owners treat their employees? If you don’t believe that your company is the very best place in the world that people can come to do business, your prospects won’t believe it either

  • How do you feel about your product or service? How reasonable and affordable is it? What’s in it for your customer to buy your product or service? There are probably many places in your community or the world, where customers can buy the product or service that you offer. If you don’t believe that your product or service is absolutely superior to anything else, your prospect won’t believe it either.

  • How do you feel about yourself? What’s your goal in selling to your prospects…to get them to do what you want them to do or to help them do what they want to do? How knowledgeable are you about your product and service? How do you feel about having sales conversations…are you the kind of person with whom anyone would love to have a conversation? How confident do you feel going into a sales conversation? If you don’t believe in yourself, your prospects won’t believe in you either?

You’ve probably noticed that there’s a common thread running through this blog!  You see, there’s an energy that passes between you and the people with whom you’re having sales conversations.  Most of the time, it’s quite subliminal.  And the energy that’s coming from you will be mirrored back to you from your prospects.  If you believe in your profession, your company, your product or service, and yourself, your energy will convey that to your prospects.  They’ll believe in all of those things too.  If you’re enthusiastic about what you’re doing, your prospects will be too.  And the result will be a high percentage of positive buying decisions. If you don’t have a positive attitude and believe in yourself and what you’re selling…well, the result will be evident in your sales and your bank balance!
