Happy National Coaches Day

It’s National Coaches Day.  It’s also the 13th anniversary of the beginning of Red Cap Sales Coaching!  It’s been an amazing 13 years, and I’m looking forward to the next 13!!

So, why would you want to hire a sales coach anyway?  Here are a few reasons:

  • Coaches are an extra set of eyes who see what you don’t.  You are busy dealing with various aspects of your business; sales, marketing, personnel, customer service, working with your clients, customers, or practice members.  It’s easy to lose perspective of the bigger picture or small details that are vital to your success.  That’s where a good coach can really help you.  Think about Peyton Manning, former quarterback in the NFL for Indianapolis and Denver.  In his years at Denver there was probably nobody in the world who knew more about football and playing the position of quarterback than Peyton was.  And Peyton had a head coach, an offensive coordinator, and a quarterback coach, who were all watching him in practice and during games and helping him be better at playing the position.  That was important because sometimes Peyton was busy being chased by a huge defensive lineman and couldn’t see everything that was going on, on the field.  You may have noticed that the TV cameras sometimes showed Peyton talking on the phone.  He wasn’t calling home or ordering a pizza.  He was talking to a coach up in the booth, who was giving him the big picture and making the calls for the upcoming plays.  None of his coaches were better quarterbacks than Peyton.  They just had vantage points that allowed them to see important things and report them to Peyton.  Your sales coach can help you see the things you might be missing in your sales process and your scripting.

  • Coaches provide inspiration and motivation in addition to information.  My sales coach, Eric Lofholm does that for me.  Yes, you heard me right!  I have a sales coach too, even though I’ve been selling for over 51 years and coaching other salespeople for 13 years.  Eric is probably the most positive person on earth, and he constantly reminds me and the other clients on his group calls that we have greatness inside of us.  I always feel more up and more inspired when I listen to Eric.

  • Sales coaching is not about imparting some silver bullet that is brand new and created massive success and wealth overnight.  It’s a process of repetition, leading to formation of good habits that, with effort and consistency, do result in success and prosperity.  Eric doesn’t teach anything that I haven’t heard before.  He constantly reminds me to do the things I know already and haven’t been doing consistently.  Coaches are great memory joggers!

  • Many business owners don’t want to do the sales in their businesses themselves.  They prefer to hire people and have them trained and coached by someone else.  That has the effect of freeing up vast amounts of time that can be utilized in working on various other aspects of their businesses and having more free time for themselves and their families to enjoy the fruits of their labors.

A sales coach can be a valuable resource in your business or your practice.  To find out more about how sales coaching may be able to help you, go to https://redcapsalescoaching.com and click one of the many buttons to schedule a FREE strategy session.  Whether you decide to hire a Red Cap coach or not, you’ll get some tremendous ideas and strategies that you can apply in your business right away to increase your conversion ratio, sales, and revenue!
